RECYCLEGARB in conjunction with other CSOs and NGOs in Oyo State organised a 2-Day Climate Change/ Recycling Sensitization drive tagged “IBADAN GOES GREEN”.
Ibadan Goes Green is an annual RecycleGarb initiative which aims at educating the public about their environment and waste to wealth creation.
On 20th July 2018, curtain fell for IBADAN GOES GREEN at Lead City University, Ibadan, Nigeria. One of 2-days the event was set to hold.The 2-Day event featured Environment Education, passed across to younger ones from New Realms High School and Methodist High School on the 1st Day at Lead City University where Students jotted every key statement made by one of the keynote speakers, the Commissioner for Environment, Oyo State.
Several photo sessions took place after day-1 with the Commissioner for Environment, Director of NESREA Oyo State, Founder REEs Africa, Founder RecycleGarb Hub Limited, Project Manager RecycleGarb Hub Limited, and other Volunteers.
The seminar exposed all attendees to the issues of climate change, it’s effects, way out, waste management, and responsible consumption. A panel session also held with Mr Taiwo Gbadegeshin, Co Founder of Clean Edge Solution, Miss Yetunde Fadeyi, Founder REEs Africa, Ojo Oladimeji, Project Manager RecycleGarb and Onaopemipo.
One of the sessions for Day 1 was taken by the Director of NESREA Oyo State, Mr A.I. Ajani.
RecycleGarb believe educating high school students about the environment will make them conscious. They are encouraged to join the train of impact makers
Day 2 was tagged “Walk4Health -Pick4Earth” with the location being Dugbe Market, Ogunpa, Ibadan. RecycleGarb and her partners engaged more than 100 market people directly and 1000 indirectly.
