In commemoration of the World Environment Day (June 5, 2018) and World Ocean Day, we volunteered at the ICCD Initiative often referred to as Climate Wednesday’s Sports for Plastic Pollution Event which held on Saturday, 9 June 2018 at the Kids Beach Gardens, Lagos. The event was aimed at propagating the World Environment Day’s Theme: “BEAT PLASTIC POLLUTION”.

ICCD Initiative seeks to build a Climate Smart generation across Africa around Environment, Health and Education.

Present with the Co-Founder of ICCDI, Olumide Idowu were our representatives Mayowa Solesi, Ashifaa Oyinkan and other Organisations in the Climate Change and Environment space.

Low-income countries tend to be more vulnerable to, and less equipped to invest against extreme, climate impacts. It was super exciting having loads of Organizations adopt a tree at the kids beach garden.

Before ICCDI’s event, Social Good Lagos also joined hands with Kids Beach Garden, Eco-Protags, Ocean Bracelets for a Beach Clean-up. It was amazing to see people taking climate smart actions.

The event was towards promoting Re-use and Recycling of Plastics.
